1. Mammut uses high quality Polyamide 6 (Nylon) for the production of its filaments. |

2. In the first stage, between two and six filaments are spun together to make a strong yarn. |

3. Between 4 and 6 yarns are then combined in the next stage to form a >braid. A number of braids are then combined to form the core. This process gives the braids a spiral twist form, which accounts for part of the rope’s elasticity. |

4. Additional elasticity is gained in the next stage, which involves the braids being coated and thermally shrunk. |

5. The rope’s core is covered with the sheath on the braiding machine. |
